Celebrity Sculptures Made Of Matches

The image of Elvis Presley, along with Marilyn Monroe, Mao Tse Tung, Muhammad Ali and Buddha are the work of Scottish artist David Mach and they are all made of matches. 50,000 matches to be exact.

David March, 52, has spent 500 hours and 1,000 boxes of coloured-tip matches imported from Japan to complete just the Elvis sculpture alone.

All of the sculptures are highly flammable. But they sometimes torch them on purpose to ensure a grand opening at their exhibitions.
