It’s called the “iBoobs”.

This one is motion sensitive, shake the iPhone and it will (at the same time) jiggle the virtual boobs, or should I say the iBoobs. Apple rejected this application, calling it obscene, so it’s not available in the App Store. But you can very much find it in the web.

They should have added a touch functionality.

Japan: Dreams May No Longer Be Secret

Researchers at the ATR Computational Neuroscience Laboratories have succeeded in partially translating brain activity in humans into images. “While the team for now has managed to reproduce only simple images from the brain, they said the technology could eventually be used to figure out dreams and other secrets inside people’s minds.” They honed the computer to each tested individual by showing them over 400 different images and recording how their brain reacted. While successful tests have been run so far, the images used in the tests have been fairly simple ones such as the word “neuron.”

This thing can print on any 3D object. You can actually print on any models at any size. You just need to remodel the object into a 3D electronic data file (into the computer) for printing, it’s kind of complicated, so this is not ideal for homes. Plus it cost a fortune, but this technology is still awesome nonetheless.

Cellphone Operated Robot

If you can get through the cell phone text speak, you’ll probably enjoy this cool tutorial on how to build a cell phone controlled robot. This bot decodes the key tones, similar to the automated phone systems we’ve all experienced. It uses a chip called a MT8870 DTMF decoder to translate the signal for the Atmega 16 controller. The circuit diagram is pretty hard to read, maybe we missed a downloadable one somewhere. The source code is available.

Asus And HP Bendable, Unbreakable Electronic Displays

HP and the Flexible Display Center at Arizona State University announced their first prototype of a flexible screen that is both easy to produce and affordable. Made almost entirely out of plastic, the displays hope to revolutionize the size of our electronics such as laptops, phones and televisions. The amazing thing about it is their prototype consumes 90% less material than traditional displays of the same screen size.

Robotic Tank Built By Two Guys In Maine For Only $1 Million

The Ripsaw MS1 is an unmanned ground vehicle built by two brothers in Maine. The tracked vehicle can go 0-60 in 3.5 seconds with an 80mph top speed. In its current form, it has a 2000 pound capacity, which opens the possibility for many different types of weapon systems. Control is provided by two people: one driver and one gunner. They work in independent remote stations. The Ripsaw could potentially be used in any application normally reserved for a tank. It could lead a charge without putting soldiers at risk.

Unofficial Fix Issued For Vista Networking Flaw

A system-crashing bug with potential malware implications has been uncovered in Vista. But a fix for the vulnerability, which revolves around flaws in the operating system’s network stack, may have to wait until the next service pack.

The TCP/IP stack buffer overflow was discovered by security researchers at Austrian firewall firm Phion in October. Details of the flaw, which also creates a potential mechanism to inject hostile code into vulnerable systems, were disclosed in a posting to BugTraq on Friday.

The vulnerability affects Enterprise and Ultimate versions of Vista in both 32 and 64 bit flavours of the operating system. XP is immune. Phion has published a workaround in the absence of a fix from Microsoft itself.

Exploitation would appear to be tricky and there’s no evidence of the misuse of the flaw by hackers. Microsoft has yet to respond to the issue.

Phion’s workaround is the first unofficial fix for Vista we’re aware of, but its not the first time the issue of unofficial fixes for other vulnerabilities in Microsoft software has arisen. Generally the best advice is to not apply an unofficial fix unless the bug is a real and present danger. The potential damage to the smooth operation of applications more than outweighs the benefits of defending against attacks.

A fix for the flaw from Microsoft is unlikely until the next service pack for Vista, according to Thomas Uterleitner of Phion. No date has been set for the availability of Vista Service Pack 2.
